Throwback Thursday - Class of 2008

The class of 2008 at Stafford High School shaped my life in so many ways.  I had a job interview that April in a small town outside of Lubbock for a behavior teacher position.  I flew up to Lubbock and visited the school and was offered the job.  I thought long and hard about what to do, and I finally realized that I could not leave my students at Stafford High School.  I loved that school, my friends, and my students.  About two months later, I would meet my fiancĂ©.  I have listed some of my favorite memories from the class of 2008 at Stafford High School.

Angel graduated, he is and will always be one of my favorite memories of teaching.

I had the best 1st period teacher aide, Dusty.  He is a great kid with a big heart.

My cheer manager, Brandy.  She created my nickname, "Mama Elson" and I will always remember walking with her for Parent's Night.

My seniors on the cheerleading squad.  These ladies have me so proud of them in all that they have done and continue to do.  Also, I got to work with my best friend and matron of honor, Kate.

This was Brad and I's first senior class together.  I still remember trying to find a helium tank hours before prom because a certain junior class president wanted balloons.

Deep in the Heart of Texas

I am a twenty-something, on the edge of thirty, Texan gal.  I am engaged to the love of my life (and of 5 years) boyfriend who is known as Honey.  He is a hard working man who puts up with my craziness and wild ideas.  For example, in the span of three months, I went from wanting to run a triathlon to joining a roller derby team to becoming a boxer.  I am so excited to become a wife and I love every day that I get to spend with my "lobster."
I work with kids who have special needs and make sure that they have their needs met on a daily basis; I can truly say that I love my job and interacting with children and their parents.  I also have a part time job at a cupcake bakery where I get to indulge in my love of cooking and baking.  It's always a plus when your job has you smelling like a bakery and finding frosting and sprinkles in odd places.
I have an amazing family; my mom is a survivor of a ruptured brain aneurysm and the jewelry-designing queen, my father is a retired military man who I take after in every way, and my big brother is a computer genius who is my hero.  My friends are spread all over the state of Texas, from Dallas to Houston to Lubbock.  They put up with my love of all things bling, Toddlers and Tiaras, and fried food.
I have created this blog to narrate an exciting time in my life.  I am planning my wedding, getting in shape, house hunting, and basically, overcoming every adult thing that comes my way with the love and support of Honey, my family, and friends.
